In the Case Study category, participants compete in teams of four and aim to create a complete theoretical solution to a problem posed by the company. To devise the solution, competitors will have a limited amount of time and available materials provided by the company as part of the task.
The problem that competitors will face is a real problem with which the company may be facing and should be solved based on existing materials and information provided.
The solution will be presented to an expert commission composed of experts / representatives of companies, and participants will have the opportunity to gain new engineering skills and also upgrade those they already have.
Innovative Design is the new EBEC category which is first being implemented across Europe in 2022. In this category, the participants compete in teams of four, they are given a limited amount of time with limited materials and they need to create a completely new, innovative design or to make an upgrade on an already existing design which will solve the problem of the task.
This new category's goal is to motivate young engineers competing on EBEC to create completely new concepts and designs which do not exist on the market and implement them without any limitations. With their professional presentation, they have to demonstrate the technological, social, ecologocial and economical accomplishments from their design.
This way, the participants will have the opportunity to develop new skills while simultaneously upgrade the ones which they already have.
